WHITE HILL
Planning permission was granted in 2021 for the demolition of an existing barn and the construction of a detached dwelling featuring both single- and two-storey elements for a young family.
This approval followed a successful Class Q application in 2020.
The new home is intended to be built using low-carbon, sustainable construction methods, which formed a central part of the clients’ brief for the project.

Design Intent
The design has been carefully developed to reflect its rural surroundings through both its form and choice of materials.
The project also incorporates substantial landscape and ecological enhancements, including a continuous native hedge and wildlife corridor, specimen tree planting, a wildlife pond, an ornamental pond, and a shelterbelt of native thicket.
Overall, the new dwelling results in a 23% reduction in the built footprint on the site.
